Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for our area.

The weather agency says significant snow with ice pellets is expected today (Sat. Apr. 14) and into tonight and mixed precipitation on Sunday.

Rain today is expected to change over to snow and ice pellets, with freezing rain possible during the changeover. We could see about 15 to 20 cm of snow and ice pellets by tonight.

In addition to this, we could see strong winds of up to 60 km/h, which could cause local blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Another round of ice pellets will move in on Sunday morning and changing over to freezing rain later in the morning. The freezing rain will change to over to rain Sunday evening. More ice build up is possible.
