MARCH BREAK SAFETY TIPS FROM THE OPP
3/13/2018 6:32:21 AM

With schools out for March Break, the OPP would like to offer up a few safety tips to keep your kids safe.

March Break often sees children left home alone while parents are at work so it's important to ensure all doors to the home are locked. It's also important to remind children not to answer the door to strangers. Speak to your children about internet safety and ensure they do not give out personal information and never to agree to meet anyone they meet online.

The OPP want to remind motorists that they need to keep their eyes peeled as more students will be out playing on the streets.

If you have planned a trip, ensure that your home is secure and ask a trusted family member or friend to regularly pick up flyers and mail when away. Invite them to use your driveway, arrange for snow removal and place lights on a timer. Try to duplicate the way your house would normally look.
