March Break is now here and that means many people will be out an about traveling.
The Ontario Provincial Police will be out on the roadways focusing on what has been the deadliest kind of driver on OPP roads for five years in a row - inattentive drivers.
Provincial Constable Sandra Barr indicates that distracted driving covers a wide range.
Police say that inattentive drivers were behind 83 fatalities on OPP roads in 2017, more than speed deaths, alcohol or drug deaths, and deaths caused due to lack of seatbelts.
Since 2009, the year Ontario Distracted Driving laws took effect, 692 people have been killed on OPP roads in collisions involving an inattentive driver.
