HURON COUNTY COURTHOUSE WILL RECEIVE TEMPORARY SECURITY UPGRADES
3/12/2018 6:17:54 AM

The Huron County courthouse is getting a makeover prior to an upcoming murder trial.

In preparation for the Boris Panovski trial, the Ministry of the Attorney General has mandated a temporary sally port.

A sally port is a secure, controlled entryway to a fortification or prison. The entrance is usually protected by some means, such as a fixed wall on the outside, parallel to the door -- which must be circumvented to enter and prevents direct enemy fire from a distance.

The trial is expected to take 10 weeks, and the sally port will be removed after.

As myFM has reported, Panovski is facing murder and attempted murder charges following a shooting at the Hullett Wildlife Conservation Area in 2014.
