HURON COUNTY HEALTH UNIT WARNS OF INCREASE IN RACOONS WITH DISTEMPER

The Huron County Health Unit is sending out a warning about an increase with distemper in the area. In a release, the unit says there has been an increase in the number of racoons testing positive for distemper, especially in the northwest area of the county.

UNITED WAY OF PERTH-HURON GETS BOOST FROM SCOTIABANK

The Perth-Huron United Way is excited about the amount of donations raised at local Scotiabank branches. Vice-President of Resource Development, Leslie Spencer-Cooper says $67,000 was raised by individual donations plus an added matching donation from Scotiabank.

It doesn't appear an aquatics committee will be set up in Saugeen Shores any time soon. Saugeen Shores Deputy Mayor Luke Charbonneau brought forward an amendment Monday attempting to create an ad-hoc committee that would oversee and determine the future of aquatics in Saugeen Shores.

OPP INVESTIGATE BREAK AND ENTER THEFTS IN DOWNTOWN KINCARDINE

The South Bruce OPP is investigating reports of break and enters along Queen Street, Kincardine during the overnight hours this past weekend. B&W Appliances, Fine Fettle and the Winning Booth lottery shop were all forcibly entered. A quantity of cash was taken from each business.
