All seems to be calm in the Ottawa Valley following a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that rocked the region just before 10am. The quake was centred north of Shawville. Earthquake Canada sysmologist Janet Drysdale has the official description of what happened this morning.

South Bruce OPP officers set up a R.I.D.E. at the intersection of Princes Street and Lambton Street in Kincardine. A car was stopped and officers found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A 53 year old Kincardine woman has been charged with dui.

The spirits will be flowing in the province this weekend. A strike has been averted at the government-owned liquor stores. The LCBO reached a tentative agreement with its workers just hours before a midnight strike deadline.
