Town Criers were the first to give a shout out at community functions. The history of the position goes back centuries, but in Ontario Town Criers first made their appearance in Owen Sound, where an immigrant who arrived via the Undergound Railway found his first paid employment.

The neuro-oncologist treating Gord Downie says the Tragically Hip frontman has a very aggressive form of brain cancer. Dr. James Perry provided a medical update this morning from Toronto's Sunnybrook hospital. He says Downie has a form of cancer which is not curable.

Hanover police are on the hunt for a man who may be responsible for several incidents of flashing over the past week. A man is wanted for exposing himself to a woman last week while she was shopping at Walmart.
